This is a very useful tip as Google's default setting is not good for most people.
For a faster instruction:
1. Click the gear icon on the top right corner of your site page
2. Choose "Edit site layout"
3. Move cursor on your Navigation Panel and click
4. Uncheck "automatically organize my navigation"
Now you can edit your navigation panel.
